The John Morden Centre
To create a homely colourful sensory environment for the elder living residents on this Day Centre project. This included a Medical Centre, Snug, Shop, Craft Centre, Café and Function Hall/Theatre. The project was a design and build scheme so we worked very closely with all trades, from architects, the contractors, project managers etc. not to mention the clients, with whom we worked alongside to provide what we think is a very lovely environment with longevity. We attended all site meetings and were an integral part of the team that brought this build to fruition. We started planning schemes etc. in 2017 and the building was completed in 2020. We were very proud to work on this project which thanks to the architects Mae Architects who have won a NLA in the Caring Category.
There are a lot of commissioned pieces in this project from art work to lighting and we have had the pleasure of working with some fabulous people to name a couple of highlights – Lighting Sylvie Lighting, we worked with them to produce the incredible lighting in the Cafe – Artwork Patricia Mitchell – we worked closely with Patricia to create a piece of work that depicted the life and the reason behind The John Morden College, and the piece takes pride of place in the Collonade.
We came in on budget.
